About Vytra
Vytra (hosted at vytra.in) is an independent web toolkit engineered specifically to assist Indian students, competitive examination candidates, cyber café operators, and everyday internet users in formatting, converting, and securing their digital files.
Core Privacy Principle: Every tool on Vytra executes inside your web browser. Your confidential documents, marksheets, certificates, photos, and signatures are never uploaded to Vytra and never stored on our servers. Two honest exceptions, stated on their own pages: the Translate PDF tool parses your file locally but sends sentence text to Google's public translation service, and the Code Editor sends the code you write for C, C++, Java, PHP and Python to Wandbox's compiler (JavaScript itself runs locally). Everything else runs entirely in your browser.
Who Builds Vytra
Vytra is designed, developed and maintained by h1k0r — an independent developer who builds free web tools. The project started from a painfully common problem: exam portals rejecting a photo, signature or marksheet upload because of a few kilobytes, and cyber cafés charging for fixes that take seconds in a browser.
Vytra was built after watching students and job applicants lose valuable form-filling time juggling desktop software, paid converters and unreliable online uploaders. The mission is narrow and practical: give every Indian student, applicant and café operator the same document-quality tools that expensive suites provide — without installs, accounts, watermarks or file uploads.
Every tool here runs and is tested in real browsers, on budget phones and café desktops alike. Many presets (exam size limits, email-friendly compression levels) were added directly from user requests sent through the Contact page. Vytra is an independent project and is not affiliated with SSC, UPSC, IBPS, or any government organisation — always verify document limits in the official exam notification.
Why We Built Vytra
Across India, millions of students and job applicants apply annually for government examinations (such as SSC, UPSC, State PSCs, IBPS, Railways, CTET, and NEET) as well as university admissions. These application portals mandate strict, precise file formatting rules:
- Passport photos strictly between 20 KB and 50 KB with exact pixel dimensions.
- Signatures compressed under 20 KB on pure white backgrounds.
- Mark sheets, certificates, and ID proofs merged into single PDFs under 100 KB or 200 KB.
Most commercial online file converters force users to upload sensitive personal documents to unknown cloud servers, impose arbitrary daily quotas, or place basic editing features behind paid monthly subscriptions.
Vytra was created to remove these barriers: providing a completely free, fast, and privacy-respecting alternative that works smoothly even on budget smartphones and cyber café desktop browsers.

How the Technology Works
Instead of transferring large files over the network to a central backend cluster, Vytra runs modern JavaScript libraries and WebAssembly binaries directly within your web browser engine:
- PDF Operations: Fast, in-browser PDF manipulation engines handle merging, splitting, page extraction, conversion, and compression directly on your local CPU.
- Document Conversion: Mature in-browser engines translate between PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG and HTML while keeping your files on-device.
- Edit & Security: Rotate, watermark, paginate, redact, sign and password-protect PDFs with zero latency.
Our Sustainability & Ad Policy
Vytra is an independently maintained web project. To fund development, cover hosting infrastructure, and keep every single tool accessible to all users for free, we display clean, non-intrusive advertisements provided by Google AdSense.
We strictly design ad placements to avoid interfering with utility workflows: ads are positioned cleanly away from file dropzones, action buttons, and conversion controls to ensure a seamless experience.
